The Pittsburgh Knights Sign Their First Madden NFL Player
PITTSBURGH, PA (May 4th, 2019) – Since partnering with the Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the NFL’s most esteemed teams, it was only a matter of time before the Knights suited up and stepped out onto the field… the digital field. The Pittsburgh Knights are excited to announce their entrance into Madden NFL. Published by Electronic Arts, Madden NFL is all about giving players “the most authentic sports game in the industry delivering an NFL experience through competing against friends online or side by side, taking your team from pre-season to Super Bowl Champions, and allowing you to be at the center of every play so you can achieve gridiron greatness”.
For the Knights, the man at the center of this play is Michael “D3liveranc3” Pinter. A veteran of the Madden NFL scene, D3liveranc3 represented the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Final 4 at last year’s Club Series tournament, and is the Back to Back Steelers Club Champion.
To D3liveranc3, Madden is so much more than just another game. “The gameplay itself typically involves some of the most strategy out of any sports games,” he explains, “I enjoy the chess-match aspect of Madden online”.
“Football is an amazing sport and Madden gives so many people the opportunity to engage with the game we all love,” says Knight’s president, James O’Connor. “Supporting the Madden Championship Series is something we’ve really wanted to do and signing D3liveranc3 felt like a prime opportunity since we both share this Steelers connection”.
As a die-hard Steelers fan, D3liveranc3 is thrilled to be playing for the Pittsburgh Knights, “The Knights seem to be very well organized and seem to be serious about what they are doing. The fact that they share some of the same views as the city of Pittsburgh and their pro sports teams is awesome to me”.
Madden NFL is an American football-based video game by Electronic Arts that was originally released as John Madden Football in 1988. The game switched over to Madden NFL in 1993, after EA acquired the rights to use NFL football teams and players. Variations of the game are available on almost every platform, and has generated almost $4 billion in sales. The Madden 19 Championship Series kicks off in August with the Madden Club Championship Live Finals Qualification.
